Raster groups are used to separate rasters into categories of similar update frequencies. Their draw order is given by their name. When a raster in a group is modified, the entire group must be rebuilt, but other groups are untouched. This means that it is a good idea to group “background” raster like OSM or Bing in a lower group than raster tht are often modified like computation results.
